It had been a few weeks since Gideon and Cathleen had last spoke. For Cat, it had been extremely tough. Normally during the summer they spoke every day, both by owl or in person. After Alice left the compartment, Cathleen read hers and Gideon’s favourite. Halfway through, she looked up at the sound of someone opening the compartment door. Seeing it was Gideon, she smiled. “Hey..”
"Exactly, I just hope my parents can come before Christmas so I can see them when I got work on the weekends."
She nodded, smiling at Sarah. “I hope they do for you as well. “
"I kind of understand, I mean my family is not conventional and my aunt and uncle are as close to me as my parents, most people don’t understand but I don’t think I would have it any other way."
She nodded, “I wouldn’t change my family for anything. No matter how annoying my siblings get.”
"It’s been… weird, I don’t know, I don’t like it but it’s safer this way." she shrugged. "I’m use to a small one, I guess it’ll be weird being backwards."
"I would find it weird as well. There’s always at least one of my siblings around. I have two who are still at Hogwarts! " She nodded, "I don’t know how I’d function with a small family. They annoy me a lot but I wouldn’t be the same person without them."
Alice smiled. “We are very alike it appears” she said. She nodded her head. “I’m sure we will. I often see you in the library anyhow. We can just collectively stress out this year”
"It does." She nodded, "I see you most days in there. Sometimes we sit together with Gid.. I’m probably going to stress a lot."
"Do you think I’d allow myself to miss any school?" she asked, joking slightly. She sighed softly. "We’ll just have to stick close to each other, eh’?"
She laughed, “You’re the same as me. I could never miss school. ” She nodded, smiling. “That sounds good. We can both cry over our homework in the library together.”
Alice smiled. “Much better. No bruises or anything” she said. She was glad to have fully recovered now. “I….Yes and no” she admitted.
"At least you didn’t miss any school. " She nodded, "I know exactly how you feel. I feel that way as well."
"I…I’m doing well, thanks. Much better than when I left Hogwarts last year" she said with a smile.
Cat nodded slightly. “Well, at least you’re much better now. Looking forward?”
"Alright, see you around."
Cat sighed and walked away. After turning the corner, she wiped away a tear before apparating back to her house.
